Eric Sokol is senior vice president of public policy at the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, heading up the foundation’s office in Washington and overseeing its advocacy strategy. An attorney and leading health-care advocate with in-depth knowledge of regulatory and legislative issues, Sokol joined AFA in November 2011 after an extensive career in government relations. He served for more than six years as director of the Power Mobility Coalition, a nationwide coalition of manufacturers, providers, and beneficiaries of power wheelchairs and motorized scooters; and for nine years as deputy director of government affairs at the National Association for Home Care and Hospice, a 6,000-member trade association whose membership includes home care and hospice providers, home medical equipment suppliers and caregivers. He is a graduate of the Washington College of Law at The American University and The University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
