The Asia-Pacific region faces some of the most severe global climate risks. Projections indicate that the region could lose up to 35 percent of GDP by 2050 due to climate-related stresses such as compromised water resources, unstable food supply and quality, and deteriorating air quality. Philanthropy is well positioned to de-risk the solutions and ensure the collaboration needed to tackle these interconnected issues of climate adaptation. However, philanthropic funding for climate mitigation remains strikingly low, accounting for less than 2 percent of global giving. As the urgency and complexity of climate crises intensify, momentum is growing to leverage philanthropy as a catalyst for innovation and action. How are bold new philanthropic funding and partnership models helping to prevent ecological, economic, and social collapse?
