Averting an AMR Disaster: How Prepared Are We?

Between the bankruptcy of smaller companies trying to develop new antibiotics—even after their product is approved—the fleeing of larger companies from this space, and the continual rise of resistant infections, how prepared are we, really, as a global population? Where have we made strides and where are we still lacking? Here we explore whether the solutions that garner the most amount of air time in policy circles are enough—or do we need to create a new, "ideal" ecosystem to ensure new antibiotics are approved and available to patients, while bending the curve of resistance development?
