Eric Kaplan

Eric Kaplan is the director of the Milken Institute Center for Financial Markets Housing Finance Program. Kaplan focuses on the health, sustainability, and reform of the U.S. housing finance ecosystem. He also serves as chair of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Consumer Advisory Board, chair of the Fixed Income Investor Network Residential Mortgage-Backed Securitization Task Force, and as a member of the Board of Directors of Kroll Bond Rating Agency, LLC, the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization, and the Cameron Kravitt Foundation. Kaplan brings over 27 years of housing and mortgage experience across a variety of finance, legal, and policy roles. Prior to joining Milken, Kaplan served in leadership roles at Ranieri Strategies LLC and Shellpoint Partners LLC. Kaplan is a former Board member of the Structured Finance Association, where he spearheaded and chaired the RMBS 3.0 Task Force and co-chaired the Residential Mortgage Committee. He also co-chaired a working group within the U.S. Treasury Department Private Label Securitization Initiative. Kaplan holds an AB in Politics from Princeton University and a JD from Boston University School of Law.
